THE NATION, March 27, 2019 — The Nation Municipality’s Volunteer Gala was held on Saturday, March 23, 2019. This gala aims to thank the volunteers and groups that partner with The Nation and contribute to various municipal projects that enrich the quality of life within our communities. During this gala, one resident from each ward is recognized as “Volunteer of the Year.”

Mrs. Alice Vallée, volunteer for many years for Fournier’s church, the Club du Réveil, the Optimist Club and the Fermières de Fournier, was recognized as “Volunteer of the Year” for ward 1.

Mr. Roger Bourgon, volunteer for more than 50 years, received the “Volunteer of the Year” award for ward 2. Mr. Bougon is a founding member of the minor hockey league in St-Isidore, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a volunteer for the St-Isidore parish and much more! He is considered as a pillar in the foundation of community organizations in the village of St-Isidore.

The St-Albert Community Group received the “Volunteer of the Year” award for ward 3. The group contributed to numerous community projects such as the daycare, the main street revitalization and the light panel in St-Albert.

As to the ward 4, it’s Mrs. Stephanie McLeod who was recognized as “Volunteer of the Year.” Mrs. McLeod is a member of the Limoges Optimist Club, the Limoges 3-Pitch Youth Program, the Limoges Adult Recreational Softball League, the Limoges Recreation Committee and much more! She is also the lead organizer of many events such as the Christmas Parade and the Talent Show in Limoges.
