About the Parks and Recreation Master Plan
The Nation Municipality is currently working with the consulting group PRC Solutions to develop a Parks and Recreation Master Plan. This master plan will provide guidance concerning the improvement, future development and management of parks, recreation and leisure services, programs, events, facilities and amenities, in a fiscally responsible and sustainable manner.
June 13th, 2019: Individual consultations with staff and Council members.
June 22nd, 2019: Information booth at the Limoges Community Day (Rodolphe Latreille Park – 63 Des Bénévoles Street, Limoges, ON).
June 25th, 2019: Focus group with members from community groups in the eastern part of The Nation Municipality.
June 26th, 2019: Focus group with members from community groups in the western part of The Nation Municipality.
August 20th, 2019: Public Workshop in St-Isidore.
August 21st, 2019: Public Workshop in St-Albert.
August 2019: Online survey.
August 2019: Phone survey.
September 23rd, 2019: Presentation to Council.
October 2019: Preparation of the preliminary draft of the plan.
October 22nd, 2019: Open House Event in Fournier.
October 23rd, 2019: Open House Event in Limoges.
November 2019: Preparation of the final plan.
December 30, 2019: Please read the Final draft of The Nation Municipality’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan and provide your comments on the recommendations by filling out this form. Please note that the best way to fill out the form is with Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you experience any difficulty with the form, please contact us at 613-764-5444. The concepts and themes have already been discussed and commented on at various consultation and open house activities. Please provide your comments on the recommendations only. Please indicate if you agree or disagree with each the recommendations and why. Please also indicate if you have any alternative solutions.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Final Draft Master Plan will be translated into French, which should be completed by the end of February. Once it is completed and posted onto our website, the period to provide comments will re-open for another 3 weeks. The process will be put on hold until then.
January 14-29, 2020: Finalization of the report & printing.
February 10, 2020: Presentation to Council. ** This will be postponed until April 2020 to allow time to translate the Final Draft of the Master Plan into French and allow a period of 3 weeks to provide comments.
Note: A budgetary envelope will be put in the 2020 Municipal Budget in prevision of the recommendations of the final Master Plan.
