About the Parks and Recreation Master Plan

The Nation Municipality is currently working with the consulting group PRC Solutions to develop a Parks and Recreation Master Plan. This master plan will provide guidance concerning the improvement, future development and management of parks, recreation and leisure services, programs, events, facilities and amenities, in a fiscally responsible and sustainable manner.

Project Timeline

June 13th, 2019: Individual consultations with staff and Council members.

June 22nd, 2019: Information booth at the Limoges Community Day (Rodolphe Latreille Park – 63 Des Bénévoles Street, Limoges, ON).

June 25th, 2019: Focus group with members from community groups in the eastern part of The Nation Municipality.

June 26th, 2019: Focus group with members from community groups in the western part of The Nation Municipality.

August 20th, 2019: Public Workshop #1 (registration details available below)

August 21st, 2019: Public Workshop #2 (registration details available below)

August 2019: Online survey. Please fill out our online survey now! The survey will close on August 23rd, 2019.

August 2019: Phone survey

October 2019: Public consultations on the preliminary draft of the plan will be held in Limoges and St-Bernardin. Consultants will be taking the information that they have gathered from the pop-up event, focus groups, public workshops and survey and will be putting together a draft plan. The public will see what the preliminary draft of the plan looks like and will be invited to provide their input again. More details to come.

Public workshops

The municipality is hosting two workshops to gain a local perspective on needs, gaps and ideas to enhance parks and recreation across the municipality. Your input is important!

At the workshops, the consultants will share what they have learned and heard about parks, recreation and culture in The Nation Municipality so far in the process and they will ask participants to answer key questions.

August 20th, 2019: Workshop #1 at the St-Isidore Community Centre (20 Arena Street, St-Isidore, ON) from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Click here to register.  Please note that the presentation will be done in English. However, the municipality has hired a translator for the event to offer a simultaneous translation.
