The west sector of the municipality, closer to Ottawa and whose flagship village is Limoges, is experiencing strong residential growth. Over 57% of residents work in Ottawa, with the federal public service being the largest employer. We find a diversity of small service companies, construction companies as well as a few manufacturing companies. The most important being the St-Albert cheese factory, founded in 1894, which employs more than 160 people. Also in the West sector are the Calypso water park, a must-see during the summer months, and Larose Larose, popular with people year round.
Further East on Highway 417 towards Montreal, The Nation becomes more and more agricultural. The Nation has more than 249 agricultural businesses including 86 dairy farms, 25 poultry farms, 3 pig farms and 101 field crops. Soybeans, corn, wheat, oats are the main crops. We find several Industrial commercial operations there, including the company Propane Levac, Dalmen doors and windows and the gardening product manufacturer Premier Tech.
