The Nation, ONTARIO – The Nation Municipality, in collaboration with the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (the “UCPR”), is thrilled to announce that the walking/running track at The Nation Sports Complex will be free to access for everyone throughout 2025 and 2026! This exciting initiative is made possible thanks to the generous support of the UCPR’s Regional Community Investment Fund.
The Regional Community Investment Fund, created by the UCPR Council, is designed to foster projects that encourage community engagement, cultural enrichment, and overall well-being. This funding initiative reflects a shared vision between The Nation Municipality and the UCPR to improve accessibility and promote healthier lifestyles for all.
Through this partnership, funding has been allocated to cover the costs of offering free access to the walking/running track over the two years. By removing economic barriers, this program ensures that visitors have the opportunity to stay active and enjoy a welcoming and inclusive recreational facility.

Current membership holders will be refunded the difference in value from January 1, 2025, to the expiration date of their pass. This ensures all users can benefit equally from this initiative.
First-time visitors are encouraged to stop by the reception desk on their initial visit to learn about the track’s rules and policies.
