Municipal Parks and amenities are now closed, walkthroughs permitted only.

  • Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all Nation park facilities and equipment are closed to the public.  Only walkthroughs are permitted – while respecting physical (social) distancing.
  • Failure to comply is to be reported to the bylaw department at 613-764-5444. Officers will attempt to deal with the matter and if unable to do so, will pass on the information to the OPP telecommunication center.
  • In addition, The Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien (CSDCEO) is prohibiting access to its outdoor play structures.

The closures apply to all play and park equipment, multiple players sports fields and courts, this includes:

  • Play structures
  • Slides
  • Climbers
  • Adult fitness stations
  • Benches and picnic tables
  • Skateboard parks
  • Ball diamonds
  • Public sports fields

Park and play equipment encourage multiple users. More importantly, the surfaces are not being cleaned and could potentially spread the COVID-19 virus.

Walkthroughs permitted – maintain physical (social) distancing While the parks are closed, you are able to walk through them. Safe park practices that are permitted includes running, walking or jogging through the park, while keeping a two-metre distance from others – which is equal to the length of a hockey stick. You can also walk your dog through the park where this is allowed, while respecting the established leashing requirements for the site.

Newly constructed in 2016, this park is the first park in The Nation Municipality that is ACCESSIBLE for all. The Soft Tile rubber surface, made from recycled tires, is absolutely awesome to play on and completely CSA approved. Parking also available on site.

Gagnon Park

The Gagnon Park is an historic site where you can find an authentic 1880’s house used as a museum. Picnic under the gazebo and then stroll through the park to learn about the Village Gagnon.
