A heat warning has been issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada for our region starting Sunday, June 22 and lasting for at least the following two days. With high temperatures expected, The Nation Municipality is opening its centres to the public for relief from the heat and is reminding you of safety tips.
Cooling Centres – Bring your reusable water bottles!
Stay cool and hydrated at one of our centres:

Sports Complex Lobby: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

St-Isidore Recreation Centre: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
You can also visit our libraries:
• St-Isidore Library Branch: Tuesday,1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• St-Albert Library Branch: Wednesday, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Heat Safety Tips from the Eastern Ontario Health Unit:
• Drink water regularly, don’t wait until you’re thirsty
• Limit outdoor activities to cooler parts of the day
• Wear light, breathable clothing
• Take cool showers or baths
• Never leave children, vulnerable individuals, or pets in a parked car
• Close blinds or curtains during the day to block out the sun
• Rest in shaded or air-conditioned areas
• Be mindful of neighbours and family members who may be more vulnerable
