LIMOGES, November 1st, 2022: The Nation Municipality is proud to announce that The Nation Sports Complex is in the final stages of construction. It is expected for the municipality to get occupancy in December 2022 and start field rentals in January 2023.
The municipal recreation department will oversee reservations, programming and staffing for the sports complex. The part-time positions to work at the facility will be open to the public in the next weeks and will be published on the Facebook page and the website of The Nation.
The municipality is currently accepting reservations for the two fields, from associations and/or individuals who are interested in expanding or starting leagues or just renting for recreational fun. The possibilities include various sports such as soccer, baseball, lacrosse, touch football, and many more. The municipality also anticipates organizing various programs on the fields and in the community room in the new year. The advertisement of these programs will be posted on the municipality’s website and Facebook page as well as in the communities once they are ready and open for registration. Qualified instructors/coaches that are interested in hosting a course or in introducing a new sport to the area, are welcomed to contact the recreation department. The walking track will also be open to the public daily.
The Nation Gets in Shape campaign is on target to reach its goal of $1 million dollars and the municipality will be making some announcements in the next month regarding major donations to our campaign from corporate and local business sponsorships. Local and community sponsorships are also very important to the project. The purchasing of tables, chairs, a sound system and video equipment for the multi-purpose community room, appliances for the bar and kitchen, benches, equipment for the fields, etc. are all extras to the project and will be offset by the community fundraising.
The Nation Sports Complex is a top of the line multisport, multi-generational facility that will offer something for everyone and will enhance the lives of The Nation Municipality residents.
