The Nation Municipality has been informed that informational pamphlets regarding recycling collection were distributed throughout the municipality in English only. Please note that these documents do not come from the municipality, and that the Municipality no longer provides or manages recycling collection services.
Since July 2023, the Province has transferred responsibility for recycling to service providers grouped under Circular Materials. Circular Materials and its contracted service providers are therefore responsible for recycling collection as well as all communications to residents regarding this service.
We found it unacceptable that a pamphlet was distributed in English only within our municipality. We have contacted Circular Materials, who apologized for the situation and indicated that the omission of French was the result of an internal error.
They have committed to correcting the situation and confirmed that the recycling calendar and guide will be updated in bilingual format. These documents will be sent to residents as soon as possible to replace those already distributed, and the digital version
will be published on their website very soon: www.circularmaterials.ca
The Municipality is committed to bilingualism and ensures that all of its own communications are available in both French and English.
Thank you for bringing this situation to our attention. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions at enviro@nationmun.ca.
